Short Film Analysis 2

Title

What works well

(think conventions)

Could be better if

A mind of his own.

Duration-  it gets the story along.

Storyline  Rather unique, does interest the audience

Budget  It is rather obvious through the props they have used, that the budget was low, though the fact that it still interests and is entertaining for the audience, is rather impressive.

It had a much more dark, dingy setting that helped to show the contrast between some scenes more effectively.

Better use of sound and music, could help add much more suspense to the scenes that need to be suspenseful

Blurred.

Duration- its long enough to make the storyline clear and understandable

Sound - Its use of sound and music is rather affective and keeps the emotions the audience feel, varied and dynamic.

IF given more context for the story and built up a bit more, so more time would also probably have been needed to allow for this too. The piece could have been much better than it already is.

Life of Kurt

Abstract Creativity  it does have a very unique theme, and seems to stick with it throughout the entire short film, which makes it blend really well.

Several scenes could have been mademuch better simply by a change in angle and perspective for the audience.

Hallucinations (Dilly Edit)

Storyline - Storyline does seem to keep remain rather basic in structure, though it does seem sometimes confusing this allows things to completely catch the audience off guard.

Sound  Its use of music has hinted at several more sinister themes, especially in combination with some scenes.

The story was much more clear aboutwhat was happening, and additionally if it wasnt as all over the place it might seem a lot less confusing toward the audience.

Some effects could have fit better in place of others however that isn't a major flaw of it.

What can you emulate from these in your work?

The Use of Sound Effects and a clear distinction between sections of the storyline can aid my piece and amplify the effect some scenes may have on the audience, especially if they are able to empathise with the characters.
